Walk Route:
We will be walking a marked route in Town Green Park and the Walk route is suitable for all ages.  Stationed along the walk there will be posters, essays, and artwork depicting the 30 Basic Human Rights as laid out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations, so that each step will help raise awareness about your own human rights. There will also be information tables along the route so that if you wish to find out about various different Human Rights organizations that are working to protect human rights in their own unique ways, you will have an opportunity to stop at any of these that interest you along the walk.  All are free to walk at their own pace.

Accessibility:
The Walk route is wheelchair accessible.

Parking:
Free public parking is available at the Market Street Parking Garage, across the street and Town Center Garage, located at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, on Six Pines, just south of Lake Robbins Drive.

Reminder:
Don't forget to dress appropriately for the day.  You may need layers and sunscreen!

Dogs Allowed:

New Art and Essay Competitions                added for 2013!

Youth for Human Rights International launched its global movement with an essay contest.

The response to the call for essays describing the individual human rights was widespread and enthusiastic and brought attention with the goal of a world of cooperation and peace through human rights education. We are very proud to be adding this to our event this year!

Local, regional or international contests are powerful activities for getting youth involved and learning about human rights, so we are adding this to our efforts here.

Click on the links below for pages detailing the steps for conducting or participating in the two different competitions for this year.  Prizes will be awarded for each group in each category!
